Happy October!: Nail Art Challenge

I've decided to do my first challenge! And since I couldn't find any that I like, or that work with my schedule, I decided to make my own!

Happy Independence Day!

It's the Fourth of July, which to Americans is basically the day that we go nuts with alcohol and explosives. No wonder the rest of the world think we're crazy...

Another part of this tradition is that everything gets decked out in red, white and blue. While I'm actually not very patriotic, I did do my nails for the holiday.

Half-moons with metal stars, red and blue jewels, and red and blue glitter make this a red-white-and-blue make this a Fourth of July spectacle!

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

It's my favorite time o' the year, the salt beef stewin' in the pot, the praties are boilin' on the stove, the Guinness flowin' from the keg.

Okay I'm just kidding. I don't like Guinness, my heritage be damned, it's too much of an acquired taste and I don't have the time or money to acquire it.

LOVE corned beef and taters, though. And the color green.

Augh the kitchen smells so good. What's your favorite foods associated with holidays?

YAY! CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE FOR EVERYONE! 

This is one of my favorite holidays. I'm Irish, I love potatoes, my favorite food is corned beef. I might dye some white wine green. 

So I'm really excited to do St. Paddy's Day nails. You might get another post. 

To start off: these nails are not my favorite. The two greens I chose look REALLY different in the bottles, but when stamped they were REALLY close. Oddly, the darker color turned out lighter after sponging. 

I sponged Finger Paints Silkscreen Green and Sally Hansen's Tan Lime in a gradient. Apparently, Tan Lime is much more sheer than I was expecting. 

I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White as the base color. On the accent nail, I used striping tape and Tan Lime to create the stripes.

Valentines Day Cheetah Nails

Happy Valentine's Day!! I have some GORGEOUS nails to show you!! I got inspiration from a dozen Pins, this one and this one, especially.

Watermark is back!

I LOVED wearing these, I was so sad to take them off. These have been my favorite so far, and I am extremely proud of them. I have been so excited to show you!

I did a french mani using NYC's Mother of Pearl St. and Sinful Colors' Snow Me White. I then took NYC's Broadway Burgundy, and freehanded tiny hearts. I then freehanded black blobs using Sinful Colors' Black on Black around the hearts to make the cheetah look.

On the accents, I stamped a zebra stripe and then covered half of the stripes in black. 
I'm not a fan of the accents, to be quite honest. I wanted to redo them, but simply never got around to it.

Christmas nails!

These are the nails I wore to my family Christmases. Everyone had a great time and we all enjoyed each others' company :) My awesomesauce boyfriend got me a bottle of Essie (not my only present), which I'll show off in another post.

The first time I tried stamping my accent nails, I stamped with Mash-50, but I just could NOT get them to come out right, so I gave up and tried something different, which you see below.

I'm getting back into the stamping groove! My mom got me a $100 gift card to Amazon, so I could spoil myself a little for my birthday (my dad gave me a check, which mostly went towards bills. Ugh, adulthood!), and I bought some Winstonia stamping plates (as well as a crapton of other nail art stuff, so stay tuned as it all comes in!).

Finding a green that will stamp on red is REALLY hard. Finally I gave up and stamped red on white and green on textured white. 

For my main nails I stamped Sinful Colors' Under 18 on Sinful Colors' Tokyo Pearl using W120, and Sinful Colors' HD Nails on OPI Liquid Sand Solitaire using BM-205 on my accent nails.

The shimmer of both Under 18 and Tokyo Pearl made the nails look kinda like candy canes :) It was very interesting to look at, but I couldn't get it to capture on the camera :(

Christmas Trees! Pictures! Boyfriends!

My boyfriend is the bestest! He fixed my phone! Pictures may now commence!

These were the nails I wore for the BF's family Christmas event.

I used a layer of Sinful Colors' Under 18, and two layers of Hit the Floor by Pure Ice. I then stamped the trees using Maybelline Color Show in Bold Gold using Gals' GA27 stamping plate.

I very much liked these nails! I had intentionally attempted to stamp with a green, but none of the greens I own stamped brightly enough to be seen. Guess they just weren't opaque enough.

Anyone have a suggestion for greens to stamp with?

I am still on haitus, for an indefinite amount of time. Grannie's death has hit my family hard, and I'm not taking the time to take care of myself like I used to.
